As part of Eastland Shopping Centre’s ongoing development program, Stilcon was appointed to provide structural steel not only for the retail precinct’s expansion, but also for the addition of a hotel on top of the centre.
This superstructure project called for seventeen beams up to 25m long and weighing up to 15 tonnes each, to be manufactured and then installed – all by the team at Stilcon. To cope with the individual beam weights, specialist tower cranes were sought and erected to meet the load and manoeuvrability specifications of each beam, which were then lifted in and affixed by our specialist installation crew.
